Feel Good Physically & Mentally with Learning Moves

Sessions with Penny Smith of Learning Moves are incredibly beneficial both physically and mentally. I always start off with various aches and stiffness, but by the end of the session I feel much more flexible. The music and the dancing is uplifting and it makes me feel better and more positive in myself. Penny is a lovely warm person and always has a smile on her face.

D.S:

I would definitely recommend Learning Moves.

Have been dancing for many years and benefit from exercising and meeting new people and having fun.

S.R:

Excellent classes, tailored to the needs of Parkinson's sufferers and inclusive of all participants, regardless of their level of mobility. I would thoroughly recommend.

I attend with my husband who has Parkinson's. He was reluctant to go to the classes at first but has benefitted from the exercise and in the group setting he is more confident and will attempt more than he would by exercising at home alone. He takes far more notice when Penny tells him to do something than he would if I say it! He now looks forward to seeing the other participants and enjoys a chat and coffee with them afterwards. Now that he has got to know other sufferers it has also encouraged him to make contact with the Parkinsons' group and occasionally join in some of their activities. Since starting the classes I have noticed that his balance is better - he has had far fewer falls. The classes have encouraged him to make the effort to improve his mobility, giving me a little more freedom as well.

Fitness and peace of mind

Coming to Penny’s Tai Chi and Pilates classes over the past year or so has helped to improve my overall physical fitness and wellbeing. Through her expert and patient tuition I have better flexibility and balance and always come away from her classes feeling relaxed and energised ready for the week ahead.

Penny says: Maybe there's stuff you can't do the way you used to, but let's concentrate on the things you can do - so as you can keep on doing them!
